Program Description:
Varsity Sr. Elite Program is geared towards the more serious intermediate or advanced dancer. Dancers that want to receive intense training in ballet, jazz technique, artistry, performance quality and acro, will thrive in this program. With a well diversified weekly schedule this dancer will progress at a quicker pace. His/her weekly schedule will consist of three ballet classes from knowledgeable and highly experienced staff that have instilled in our students a passion and love for ballet. Our staff understands how to keep the dancer motivated and challenged while the dancer learns to appreciate the foundation of dance. Dancers in this program may also participate in a pointe class, by audition only, to ensure their readiness. Students will also have a required jazz technique class, a competition choreography class and an acro class with instruction from highly trained, certified and qualified staff members.
Dancers in the Varsity Sr. Elite program will compete in three genres (jazz, contemporary and lyrical) at four local competitions. We bring in only the best professional choreographers from all across the country to teach our students their competition material.
All dancers in this program will attend Epic Dance Convention in the Fall of 2023 and also attend one national dance convention in the Spring of 2024. The studio directors accompany Project Dance dancers to these conventions because they see the value in their students learning from professionals who are the best in the dance industry.
Project Dance also sees the value in bringing in professional artists to teach master classes to their students throughout the year to expand their style and audition skills.
Dancers in this program will be evaluated twice a year to track their progression and to assist them to improve in their weaker areas. Collaboration between teachers for individual students also ensures progression. This program requires dancers to attend 9 of the 15 summer intensive days offered on select weeks in June. This flexibility allows your family the freedom to choose what works best with
your summer vacation schedule.
If you are new to our studio, visit “audition schedule” so your dancer knows when to attend auditions. Following auditions we will inform your dancer how many intensive days are required for them depending on which program they make. Dancers that do not participate in the summer intensive program will not be allowed to compete the following dance season with us.
Project Dance is not only committed to developing great dancers, we are passionate about the growth of the individual! Students learn teamwork, discipline, importance of hard work and dedication, and responsibility all while training in a challenging and fun environment.
