Program Description:

Project Dance offers a High School Competition Team geared towards advanced dancers already training on a high school dance team. These dancers want all the same amazing experiences and opportunities that competition studio students receive but do not have the time to train in both school and studio. These dancers also do not want to lose their advanced technique that they have worked so hard to attain to this point.

The High School Competition Team will meet twice a week. One night will consist of a ballet and jazz technique class, and the second evening will consist of a second ballet class and choreography class. PD directors will work closely with the High School program directors so their schedules coincide as smoothly as possible.

Dancers on our High School team will be placed on a team that competes at four local competitions plus three conventions. The team will compete three pieces at each of these venues, with yet another option to add a second choreography class to compete two more pieces. Members of this teams also have the option to participate on award winning Hip Hop Teams, Ballet Ensemble, Ballroom Fusion, Pointe Ensemble or a pointe class. Dancers are placed on a Hip Hop and Ballet Ensemble Team based off an audition. Pointe Ensemble is for our dancers proficient in pointe and asked by invitation only to participate. Project Dance brings in only the best professional choreographers from all across the country to teach our students their competition material.

Master classes are another added bonus that these teams may participate in, by choice. The studio directors are passionate about having their dancers participate in extra workshops such as conventions and master classes because they see the value in their students learning from professionals who are the best in their industry. They have brought in professionals such as season 7 winner of SYTYCD, Lauren Froderman or 9 season participate of Dancing With The Stars, Chelsie Hightower, to name a few, for master classes and extra workshops throughout the season.

Dancers in this program will be required to attend 8 of the 15 summer intensive classes offered in June. Summer Intensive classes continue the growth of the dancers' technique. Dancers in the High School Program may be training with their high school team during this time as well. Contact the studio and some options will be worked out on an individual basis.

Project Dance is not only committed to developing great dancers, but also about the growth of the individuals character! Students learn teamwork, discipline, importance of strong work ethic, dedication, and responsibility all while training in a challenging, positive and fun environment.
