Meet Sophie Blank
Dance Teacher
Sophie Blank has been teaching at Project Dance since 2017 and has loved it from the moment she walked through the doors. She teaches in the Tumbling and Acro program and is known for creating a happy, safe, and encouraging environment where students can grow and thrive.
Sophie began tumbling at age four in a preschool/tumbling combo class and continued training at multiple gymnastics and tumbling centers throughout the Salt Lake Valley. At age 12, she began All-Star Cheerleading and went on to compete—and place—at numerous national competitions at both the All-Star and high school levels.
In college, Sophie performed and competed with the Utah Valley University Cheer Team, earning a 2nd place finish at the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach. Her passion for tumbling started early—she began assisting and teaching classes while still in 5th grade. Over the years, she has also judged high school cheer tryouts and taught summer intensive classes for studios throughout the valley.
In 2017, Sophie became Acrobatic Arts certified and loves the structured progressions and wide variety of skills the program provides. Since joining Project Dance, she has loved teaching students from preschool through high school and is passionate about helping each dancer reach their greatest potential.
Sophie graduated from UVU in 2021 with a degree in Family Science and enjoys using what she learned to better support and motivate the children she teaches. She married her husband, Nick, in 2018, and they have two daughters, Zoey (almost 4) and Lola (6 months). When she’s not at the studio, Sophie can be found spending time with her girls—at the park, hiking, boating, or enjoying time with family.
Sophie loves everything about Project Dance and the opportunities it provides for its students.
