Meet Sarah Bennett

Dance Instructor

Sarah Bennett started dancing at age 4 at Clytie Adam’s School of Ballet where she first fell in love with Ballet. At age 9, she started dancing with Ballet West Academy and quickly moved up through the levels. She enjoyed learning from well known teachers like Jan Fugit and Jeffrey Rogers and performing all different kinds of Ballet’s through the course of her childhood. While dancing at Ballet West Academy, she was in the production of Ballet West’s Nutcracker for 7 years. She played the role of Clara two years in a row and also many other children roles. At a very young age, she competed in the national YAGP ballet competition in Denver Colorado and placed in the top ten out of many dancers. A couple years later, she decided to go back to compete in the national YAGP ballet competition in San Francisco, California. She has taken many amazing classes in the genres of Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Cheerleading, Modern, and Contemporary over the course of the years. In high school, she decided to make a change and was apart of the Taylorsville High School Drill team for her junior and senior year. She was elected a Choreographer her senior year and helped to create the dances they competed. Her senior year, she received the Sterling
Scholar of Dance award at her high school level and took her scholarship to go to Utah Valley University. She then auditioned for the Utah Valley University dance team and made it but did not continue to dance with the team due to wanting to continue to teach in the Salt
lake valley. In 2015, She had made a change to finish her schooling with the University of Utah while continuing to teach. She has taught at many studios around the valley since she was 16 years old. This includes Xcite, Beyond Dance, and Hip Dance Company on top of subbing for many studios. Every summer, for the past 4 years, she has taught with Hunter
High School Drill Team and has even choreographed a piece for RIverton Dance Company. She is excited to finally put down some roots at Project Dance and to see where this journey takes her.
